According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on Thursday, September 19th, 2024, Deputies responded to 6013 Stokes Lee Center Road in the Town of Lee for a reported Serious Personal Injury Car Pedestrian. Due to the nature of the incident, members of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Unit responded to the scene, and at this time, took over the investigation.

Investigators determined 27-year-old Jessica Furry of Lee Center was operating her 2018 white Jeep Grand Cherokee in the driveway of her residence. It was determined Jessica had placed the vehicle in drive and drove forward striking her 3-year-old son, Cooper Farda. Jessica began life saving measures until Cooper was transported from the scene by Amcare Ambulance Services. Cooper was transported to Rome Health where he was pronounced deceased.

Members of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office were assisted on the scene by members of the New York State Police, Lee Center Fire Department, and Amcare Ambulance Services.

At this time, this incident is still under investigation.
