According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on September 23rd, 2024, at around 1:54 pm, Road Patrol Deputies responded to Route 365 in the Town of Floyd for a reported two car motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Patrol Deputies determined after investigation, the operator of a 2004 Honda CRV, Mary Koperda, (76) of Floyd, was driving westerly on Route 365 when she failed to maintain her lane, causing her to cross over the center line into the opposite lane of traffic, striking a 2017 Mazda CX5 operated by Isabella Plummer, (23) of Syracuse. Both vehicles were towed from scene due to airbag deployment. Koperda was transported to Rome Health for non-life-threatening injuries received from the accident. Plummer was evaluated on scene by Floyd Fire and signed off.

Patrol Deputies were assisted on scene by Floyd Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance.
