According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Holland Patent man has been arrested for promoting and possessing child pornography.

The investigation began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) was notified by an online platform that an individual in Holland Patent had uploaded several images of child pornography. The NCMEC then contacted the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force in Albany, who then transferred the case to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center. The case was then assigned to Sheriff’s Investigator Mark R. Chrysler.

Investigator Chrysler, along with assistance from the Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), gathered enough evidence to draft a search warrant. The search warrant was later executed at the residence in Holland Patent by Investigators of the Sheriff’s Office, HSI, and the New York State Police, where several electronics were seized.

The seized devices were examined by members of the Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

On October 10, 2024, Investigator Chrysler, with the assistance of HSI, arrested Christopher Maloy, age 70, of Holland Patent and charged him with two counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child, which are Class D Felonies, and one count of Possessing a Sexual Performance of a Child, a Class E Felony.

Maloy was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and later arraigned in CAP Court. Maloy was later remanded to the Oneida County Jail en lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
