Accident

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on October 12th, 2018 at about 4:26 P.M. Deputies responded to Route 5 near Youngs Rd in the Town of Vernon where a vehicle collided with a residence. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to Oneida City Hospital in serious condition. The driver, Stephen A. Jackson (66) of Canastota, was driving a silver 2013 Chevrolet Impala east on State Route 5 when his vehicle left the south shoulder of the roadway and struck the residence 4902 State Route 5 causing minor damage. At this time Jackson is still at the hospital in serious condition. The accident and current condition of Jackson appears to be caused by a medical emergency while operating the motor vehicle. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Vernon Police Department, Vernon Fire Department and Vineall Ambulance on scene.
