Cassville Man Charged with Assault after altercation with Deputy

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol a Cassville man has been arrested and charged with assault after a deputy was injured while taking him into custody.

Mark C. Keenan, 21, of Cassville was being placed under arrest after he shoved a deputy while on his property located on Summit Road in the Town of Paris. After being informed that he was under arrest, Keenan struggled with officers who were trying to take him into custody. Deputies had been called to the residence for a peace officer complaint when the incident took place.

The deputy injured his hand in the incident and was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Keenan was charged with Assault in the 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest, and Harassment in the 2nddegree. Keenan is currently awaiting arraignment at the Oneida County Central Arraignment located at the Oneida County Jail.
