City of Utica Arrest on 6/5/18

According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Joseph Lisi, Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Utica man has been arrested following an investigation into the possession of child pornography.

Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Investigator C. J. Paravati, assigned to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, arrested Brian M. Kowalski, 34, for Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child and Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, both felonies. Kowalski was arraigned in the City of Utica Court and was sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail.

The arrest was a result of a search warrant execution on June 5, 2018 at 12 16 Stark Street in the City of Utica. The Oneida County Child Advocacy Center was assisted by members of the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the Utica Police Department Crime Scene Unit. After the search warrant was executed, several computer electronic devices were seized for further forensic examinations.
