According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol; On January 26, 2018 at around 11:00AM , members of the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit assisted members of the Oneida County Sheriffs Warrants Unit and Oneida County Probation at 62 Pratt Ave in Clark Mills NY to execute an arrest warrant. James F. Cook 47, of Clark Mills was wanted out of Fredricksburg Police Department (Virginia) on a felony Probation Violation. Cook was believed to be living in a camper in the back yard of the residence on Pratt Ave. As a result of the warrant investigation Cook was apprehended inside his camper and items were discovered inside the camper that were consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine. The scene was secured and a search warrant for the camper was then obtained by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics unit. The New York State Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team “CCSERT” team was called to assist with the investigation. A quantity of methamphetamine was recovered from inside the camper along with meth making materials. Cook was subsequently charged with unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the third degree, a class D Felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree a class A Misdemeanor. Cook was remanded to OCJ on his Probation Violation and other charges are pending at this time. The Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol and the Clark Mills Fire Department also assisted.
