Crime stopper App tip leads to arrest

On March 27, 2018, a Tip was received through the Mohawk Valley Crime Stoppers P3 App Live that a wanted person was at a certain location within the City of Utica that was wanted on an Oneida County Drug Court Warrant.

The person wanted was Brieann Pomeroy age 40, for the crime of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree.

Communication continued between the Tipster and the members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, which in turn, led to the notification of the Sheriff's Office Warrants Unit.

Warrants Unit Members responded to the area where Pomeroy was reported to be. Warrant Unit members observed Pomeroy answering the door of the residence to a person, and then run back inside. After entry was granted to the investigators, Pomeroy was found hiding in the basement secreted between a sewer pipe and a wall.

She was taken into custody, and brought to Oneida County Jail awaiting arraignment.
