Town of Verona- According to Sheriff Robert M. Maciol; on 05/30/2018 at about 9:30am the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit and uniformed Road Patrol arrested Jacob D. Wheelock, age-27, from the Town of Verona after a domestic incident that occurred at about 5:00pm in the Town of Verona on 05/29/2018. An investigation revealed that Wheelock physically placed the victim in a choke hold and also caused physical injury inside the mouth of the victim while holding the victim against their will inside of a residence. Wheelock eventually allowed the victim to leave the residence and after doing so the victim sought medical attention at a local hospital and was later released. Wheelock was arrested for 1 count each of the following Class-A Misdemeanors: Assault 3rd Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation, and Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd Degree. Wheelock is currently being held in the Oneida County Lock-Up awaiting an arraignment at the Oneida County CAP Court.
