A Utica man and woman have been arrested following a drug investigation involving the distribution of cocaine over the last several months.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, Jacoby Rodgers, 35 and Kadesha Fuentes, 27 both of Utica have been arrested after warrants for their arrest were issued by Oneida County Court Judge Michael Dwyer for their involvement in the sale of cocaine in the City of Utica over the last several months. On Friday, April 13, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Narcotics and Warrants Units located Rodgers operating a vehicle in the City of Utica. Rodgers was taken into custody after a traffic stop was conducted and he was sent to the Oneida County Jail to await arraignment in front of Judge Dwyer. Fuentes was already incarcerated in the Oneida County Jail on unrelated charges and will answer the charges in Oneida County Court. Both Rodgers and Fuentes face charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit was assisted throughout this investigation by the Utica Police Department Metro Narcotics Unit, the Utica Police Department K-9 Unit, the Rome Police Department SIU, the Madison County Sheriff's Office, the New York State Police CNET and the Drug Enforcement Administration, Syracuse Resident Office.
