According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, four people were injured in a three car motor vehicle accident. On 02/08/2018 at about 9:07 AM, Patrol Deputies responded to a three car motor vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 233 at the Butts Rd intersection in the City of Rome. Kenneth Hoag, age 30, of Hoosick Falls, NY was operating his Chevrolet Silverado north on Route 233, when he rear ended a 2016 Kia Sol, being operated by Harriot Brennan, age 74, of Butts Rd, Rome NY. Brennann was slowing in traffic awaiting to make a left turn onto Butts Rd when she was rear ended. Brennan's Kia was then pushed into the south bound lane where it was struck by a 2011 Jeep Cheorkee, being operated by Joseph Malbouf, age 71, of Lowville NY. Joseph Malbouf complained of back pain and his front seat passenger Amy Malbouf, age 70, complained of shoulder pain. Both were transported to Rome Emergency Room by AmCare Ambulance. Hoag complained of chest pain and was transported to Rome Emergency Room by AmCare Ambulance. Brennann complained of neck pain and was transported to St Elizabeth's Emergency Room by Amcare Ambulance. Rome Fire Dept, Stanwix Fire Dept and New York State Police assisted on scene. Hoag was issued a traffic summons for Following to Close and is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court in March 2018.
