How to find information on sex offenders

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office recognizes that the internet is a very efficient way to disseminate information regarding sex offenders to the general public. Our mission is to inform the general public, by means of this notification, of the potential threat that is posed by convicted sex offenders. An informed community is a safer community. For information regarding sex offenders, go to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS)website and click on the Sex Offender link. To receive free alerts via e-mail, text message or fax whenever a Level 2 or Level 3 sex offender listed on the DCJS website moves into or out of a community or location of interest to you and your family, you can go to: http://www.criminaljustice.ny.gov/nsor/.

Information about offenders of all risk levels, including those whose risk levels are pending, is available by calling 518-457-5837 or 1-800-262-3257.

• Callers must have an individual's name and one of the following – an exact address, date of birth, driver's license number, or Social Security number – to learn if the individual is on the Registry.

Our office is also pleased to provide Offender Watch which is the nation’s leading registered sex offender management and community notification tool.
