At around noon today, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol was dispatched to the Westmoreland Middle School in Westmoreland after a tattered note was found in a restroom with a concerning message on it. A Deputy Sheriff assigned to the school district as a School Resource Officer (SRO), along with school staff, immediately put their emergency plan into action. Within minutes, additional law enforcement members and K-9’s from the Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police, and the Utica Police assisted with a complete sweep of the building with nothing being found.
