According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on 5-22-18 at 12:38 pm a Sheriff Deputy spotted a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was stopped on Rt 49 Oriskany exit ramp at the Whitestown Marcy town line. The vehicle was wrecked and still running leading to believe that it was recently abandoned. A New York State Police K9 was in the area and was able to respond within minutes. The State Police K9 began a search and believed they were on the trial of the suspect. An additional State Police K9 bloodhound also responded to the area to assist. The search was called off at 2:06 pm when K9 handlers believed suspect was picked up by vehicle. The investigation is on going and being conducted by both the Oneida County Sheriff's Office and City of Oneida PD where the vehicle was stolen from. No further details at this time.
