Motor vehicle accident

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol; On Saturday May 12, 2018, a Westdale man was injured in a 1 vehicle motor vehicle accident. At around 12:50 PM, Deputies responded to the accident on Wolcott Hill Rd in the Town of Camden.

An investigation into the accident reviled that Daniel Christmas, 25, of Westdale was driving a 1998 Land Rover Westbound on Skinner Settlement Rd. Christmas failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Skinner Settlement Rd and Wolcott Hill Rd. Christmas continued to drive off the western shoulder of Wolcott Hill Rd striking a tree.

During the collision, Christmas received apparent minor injuries and was transported by AMCARE Ambulance to Rome Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

Christmas was issued a traffic ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign, which is returnable to Camden Town Court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Camden Fire Department and AMCARE Ambulance.
