According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol deputies responded to a 1-car personal injury motor vehicle accident around 3:30 PM at the intersection of Lowell Road and Moore Road. Deputies say that Debby Perry, 59 of Rome was operating her 2007 Chevy Trail Blazer westbound on Lowell Road when a smaller black pick up truck with teal on the sides failed to stop at the stop sign on Moore Road. Perry attempted to swerve to miss the pick up truck and lost control of her vehicle. When Perry did this she crossed over the roadway and struck a tree on the southern shoulder which caused her airbags to be deployed.

Perry was transported by COCVAC Ambulance for minor injuries. Perry was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash which prevented any serious injuries.

The Sheriff's Office is trying to identify the male operating the smaller sized pick up truck. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, 315-736-0141.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Town of Westmoreland Fire Department and COCVAC Ambulance.
