According to Sheriff Maciol of the Oneida County Sheriffs Office, one person was injured in a two car collision on State Route 46 in the City of Rome Saturday morning. Jennifer Fitch, 42 of Holland Patent was traveling Northbound on State Route 46 in the City of Rome when she failed to keep right in her lane and drove into oncoming traffic. Fitch's vehicle struck a Southbound vehicle being operated by Eric Sampson, 42, of Constableville. In the collision Fitch sustained a head injury. Sampson was uninjured in the collision. Fitch was treated at the scene by AMCARE Ambulance and the City of Rome Fire Department and EMS personnel. Fitch was transported by AMCARE Ambulance to Rome Memorial Hospital for her injuries. Fitch was issued several traffic summonses to return to Rome City Court at a later date.
