According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on Monday October 8, 2018 at about 9:20 AM Deputies responded to the scene of a Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Collision at the intersection of Rome-Taberg Road and Link Road in the City of Rome.

Deputies reported that a 2013 Toyota 4Runner being operated by Paul Benedetto, 50 of Connecticut, was westbound on Rome-Taberg Road when a 2016 Honda Accord being operated by James Young, 83 of Lee Center, entered it's path of travel from Link Road resulting in Benedetto's vehicle colliding with Young's vehicle.

Young was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center where he was being treated for injuries sustained from the collision and listed in stable condition. Young was issued a traffic citation for Failure to Yield the Right of Way at an Intersection.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by members of the NY State Police, Amcare Ambulance, Rome Fire Department and Adirondack Veterinary Service.
