Motor vehicle accident

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol:

Around 3:00 P.M. Deputies responded to a property damage accident on State Route 274 in the Town of Floyd involving a loaded tractor trailer. An investigation revealed that Nicholas Hughes (26) of Norwich, NY was operating a 2000 Volvo Tractor Trailer loaded with lumber when he failed to maintain his lane. Hughes went off into the ditch located on the western shoulder of the roadway causing the tractor trailer to overturn on it's roof. No one was injured as a result of this accident.Hughes was issued traffic tickets for failure to maintain lane and an uninspected motor vehicle.

Notifications were made to ENCON for any additional fuel that was dislodged during the accident.

Deputies were assisted on scene by New York State Police, Floyd Fire Department and Holland Patent Fire Department.

The roadway is open to all traffic.
