According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol the Sheriff's office responded to a two car personal injury accident on Route 12 in the Town of Boonville. The accident occurred at 11:00 AM, just south of the Route 28 on ramp to Route 12. Deputies on scene stated the two vehicles involved were a 2010 Ford pick-up truck operated by George Patterson and a 2015 GMC pick-up truck operated by James Clark. Mr. Patterson was accompanied by Sandra Albert, who was seated in the front passenger seat. Deputies said Mr. Patterson was behind a separate truck towing a trailer when he began to pass the vehicle by going into the passing lane of Route 12. Mr. Patterson accelerated and passed the vehicle and then went to pass Mr. Clark's vehicle. Before Mr. Patterson could get to Mr. Clark's vehicle, Mr. Clark began to merge into the passing lane. Deputies said due to the time and distance between the two vehicle's, Mr. Paterson could not stop in time and struck the rear of Mr. Clarks snowmobile trailer. Mr. Patterson's vehicle glanced off the trailer and then collided with Mr. Clarks vehicle. Mr. Patterson's vehicle came to rest in the north bound lane of Route 12. Mr. Clark complained of shoulder pain from the crash and was transported by Old Forge Ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment. Miss. Albert was injured during the accident and had to be extracted from Mr. Patterson's vehicle. Miss. Albert complained of neck, back, arm and leg pain, she was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital by Boonville Ambulance for treatment. Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the NY State Troopers and Forestport Voluntary Fire Department.
