Motor vehicle accident in the Town of Vienna

According to Sheriff Maciol of the Oneida County Sheriffs Office, one women was sent to the hospital after a 2 car collision in the Town of Vienna Monday afternoon. Karl Schultz, 41 and his wife Danielle Schultz, 43 of Elips Rd Cleveland were traveling East on State Route 49 when another vehicle being driven by Karen Eckel, 59 of Rt 49 Vienna was attempting to enter the highway from a driveway. Eckel's vehicle collided with Schultz's vehicle. Vienna Fire Department and EMS personnel assisted at the scene. Danielle Schultz was treated at the scene and transported to Rome Memorial Hospital by AmCare Ambulance for neck pain. A third passenger in Schultz's vehicle was uninjured. Eckel was issued a traffic summons to return to the Town of Vienna Court at a later date.
