Motor Vehicle Accident

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on Friday, July 27, 2018 at approximately 6:56 P.M., Deputies responded to State Route 291 in the Town of Marcy for a two car motor vehicle accident resulting in minor injuries.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Paulette Brady, 71 of Florida was driving a 2010 red Toyota west bound on State Route 49 and was exiting onto State Route 291. Shannan Santamaria, 48 of Yorkville was operating a 1975 blue Chevrolet north bound on Route 291. As Brady approached the intersection of State Route 291, she failed to stop at the red light and was struck by Santamaria's vehicle.

As a result of the accident, Santamaria sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Lukes Hospital by Kunkel Ambulance. Gary Brown, 76 of Utica, a rear seat passenger of Brady's vehicle, sustained minor injuries as well and was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital by Kunkel Ambulance.

Paulette Brady was issued a summons for passing a red signal returnable to the Marcy Town Court at a later date.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Village of Whitesboro Police Department, Maynard Fire Department and Kunkel Ambulance.
