Motor Vehicle Accident on East Dominick St Exit Ra

According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; Deputies responded to the East Dominick St Exit of State Route 365 Eastbound for a Tractor Trailer Motor Vehicle Accident. Upon arrival Deputies determined that the driver, Luciano Kanga, (41) of Jacksonville FL, was operating 2015 International Tractor eastbound on State Route 365. Kanga then fell asleep and drifted onto the East Dominick St Exit Ramp lane. Kanga was traveling too fast for the road conditions causing the tractor to leave the roadway and strike the guide rail, knocking down several hundred feet. After impact, the trailer of the tractor then slid off the roadway and down into the embankment. Deputies shut down the East Dominick St Exit for a period of time while the trailer was removed from the guide rail. Kanga was not injured and was issued a citation due back to Rome City Court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office were assisted on scene by Rome Fire Department, New York State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit, and New York State Department of Transportation.
