A Herkimer woman was arrested for bringing contraband into the jail

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, at about 12:15 this afternoon Amanda Pohleven 31 of Herkimer came to the Oneida County Jail to visit an inmate While inside the facility, correctional officers found her to be in possession of an unknown substance. The substance was secured and turned over the forensic unit for testing. A test revealed that the substance was suboxone. Amanda was taken into custody and charged with promoting prison contraband in the first degree, a class D felony. Pohleven was arraigned at the centralized arraignment court and released on her own recognizance. She is to reappear on a later date.
