According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Joseph Lisi, director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Rome man who is a level 2 registered sex offender was arrested on June 19, 2018.

Oneida County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Denise F. Luker and Rome P.D. Det. Edwin D'Alessandro, both assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, arrested Donald J. Cadrette, 67, of River Rd. in Rome, NY. Cadrette was arrested on one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class D Felony. The arrest stems from Cadrette having sexual contact with a female child less than 11 years of age. The incidents took place in 2016-2017 in the City of Rome. More charges are pending Grand Jury action.

Donald Cadrette was arraigned on the charge in Rome City Court. He was remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

An order of protection was requested for the victim. The victim was also offered counseling services through the Child Advocacy Center.
