According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on October 16, 2018, Zachary M. Williamson, age 24, of Remsen, was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree (Class D Felony).

On August 02, 2018, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division responded to an address in the Town of Augusta for a reported fraud complaint. After initial investigation, the case was turned over to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Offices Criminal Investigation Unit for further investigation. During the investigation it was determined that Zachary M. Williamson stole numerous checks from his employer, forged his employers name on the checks and cashed the checks at several locations in Oneida and Madison Counties.

On October 16, 2018, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Offices Warrants Unit located Zachary M. Williamson at an address in the Town of Remsen and Zachary was taken into custody. Zachary M. Williamson was arraigned in Oneida County CAP Court and remanded to Oneida County Correctional Facility with no bail.

The case will be turned over to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office for Grand Jury consideration.
