ROME MAN ARRESTED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING A CHILD

According to Oneida County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Joseph Lisi, of the County Child Advocacy Center, A Rome man was arrested after sexually abusing a child in Rome in May 2018. On Wednesday June 6, 2018 Utica Police Inv. Frederick R. Bruzzese III and Rome Police Detective E.A. D'Alessandro arrested Charles H. Dobson III, 17 in Rome. Inv. Bruzzese led the several week long investigation which began in May. Inv. Bruzzese said that Dobson sexually abused an eleven year old boy in a home in Rome on May 24, 2018. Inv. Bruzzese and Det. D'Alessandro charged Dobson with one count each of Sexual Abuse in the second degree, Forcible Touching and Endangering the welfare of a child, all class A misdemeanors.

Inv. Bruzzese said Dobson is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court to answer the charges on June 26, 2018, and additional charges are possible as the investigation is continuing.

The victim has been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center.
