According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, two men were arrested for scheme to defraud in the first degree after a three month investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit.

The investigation followed a report of several bad checks that were written to area businesses totaling over $11,000.00,where the merchandise was later sold to a local pawn shop.

Shannon M. Gibbs, 42 of Floyd, NY and Albert P. McLiesh Jr., 57 of Rome, NY were both arrested on one count each of scheme to defraud in the first degree, a class E felony and released on appearance tickets to appear on a later date at Rome City Court.
