Earlier today, Sheriff Rob Maciol was honored to join County Executive Anthony Picente, Utica School Superintendent Bruce Karam, and members of the Utica School Board of Education as they signed a historic agreement to place Special Patrol Officers from the Sheriff’s Office in all 10 elementary schools in the Utica City School District. There are now have 50 SPOs in eight county school districts since the County Executive pledged $500,000 for school safety in April and there are three more districts coming on board as we speak for our SPO services.
