This morning, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was honored to kick off the Oneida County leg of the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run. The torch is making its way across the state as it heads to Siena College for the opening of the Special Olympics Summer Games in two weeks. More than 6,000 police officers, deputies, and troopers from 470 law enforcement agencies will carry the torch throughout the 56 legs of the run. Sheriff Maciol is always happy to see Gold Medalist, Lauren, at this annual event.
