UPDATE: According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, following an investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol and Criminal Investigation Unit, a juvenile has been arrested regarding a threat that was reported at the New York Mills High School on 10/18/2018. The juvenile was arrested for falsely reporting an incident in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor and disorderly conduct, a violation. The juvenile is set to appear before Oneida County Juvenile Probation on a later date. Based upon the defendants age, no further information will be released at this time.

10/18/2018: According to Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation at the New York Mills High School this afternoon. Deputies are on the scene and are working with school officials on what appears to be a non-credible threat by a juvenile student. There is no immediate threat to any of the students at school or the general public as the deputies are in the process of interviewing a juvenile of interest. The Sheriff’s Office will send a follow-up news release at the conclusion of this investigation.
