Utica man arrested
According to Oneida County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Joseph Lisi, a City of Utica man was arrested for sexually abusing a young child in late May.
Oneida County Sheriff's Office Investigator Mark R Chrysler, who is assigned to the Oneida County CAC, received information from the Child Abuse Hotline and the Utica Police Department that Christopher J Spratt, age 39, had forced himself sexually on a female child who was under the age of 17. Spratt was charged with one count of Attempted Rape in the First Degree, a Class C Felony. He was arraigned at Utica City Court. Spratt was remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility with no bail. He is scheduled to re-appear in Utica City Court at a later date.
The victim has been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center and an Order of Protection has been requested.
A team effort with multiple Investigators and Child Protective workers conducted the investigation.
