UTICA MAN ARRESTED FOR RAPE

A Utica man was arrested for the 2007 rape of two children. According to Undersheriff Joseph Lisi of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office,

Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, the Utica man was charged late Tuesday afternoon.

Rome Police Detective E.A. D'Alessandro and Sheriff's Investigator Mark Chrysler charged, Desmond Anthony Jackson 30, of Utica with one count of Rape in the first degree, a class B felony.

Detective D'Alessandro said that for several years, ending in 2007, Jackson raped and sexually abused two female children, under the age of eleven, at his home in Utica NY. Jackson was nineteen at the time of the crime. D'Alessandro said that Jackson is currently being held in the Utica City Lockup where he is awaiting arraignment at the Oneida County Jail.

D'Alessandro said that the Oneida County District Attorney's office recommended that bail be set in the amount of $50,000.00. Det. D'Alessandro said that he also requested an order of protection for both victims. The victims have been offered counseling through the child advocacy center.

D'Alessandro stated that the investigation is continuing and additional charges against Jackson are possible.
