According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on 08/16/2018 at approximately 2:10 PM, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a car/pedestrian, personal injury motor vehicle accident that occurred on Lake St in the Town of Vienna.

When OCSO Deputies arrived on scene they found pedestrian, Daniel F. McCarthy, 35 of Vienna lying in the roadway with severe injuries to his lower extremities. The involved vehicle and operator were not on scene. McCarthy was treated at the scene by the North Bay Volunteer Fire Department and later transported by North Shore Ambulance to SUNY Upstate Medical Center for his injuries. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The driver of the vehicle, Jeffrey M. Wisinski, 46 also of Vienna was located a short time later. After further investigation by the Oneida County Criminal Investigation Unit, it was determined that the motor vehicle accident occurred following a dispute between the involved parties over speeding in the roadway.

Wisinski was arrested for Assault in the second degree, a class D Felony. He was also charged with Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, Leaving the scene of a personal injury motor vehicle accident, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Wisinski was arraigned at the Oneida County CAP Court where he was remanded to the Oneida County Jail on no bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Town of Vienna Local Criminal Court on 08/21/2018. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, North Bay Fire Department and North Shore Ambulance.
