According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Tuesday, January 08, 2019 at about 8:12 A.M., Deputies responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on State Route 49 in the City of Rome. Once on scene Deputies determined, Sherman Reed Jr., 28, of Utica, was operating a silver 2006 BMW in an Easterly direction on State Route 49 when he attempted to change lanes and struck a guide rail. Reed was transported by AmCare Ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital for minor injuries. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by AmCare Ambulance and Rome Fire Department.
