According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, along with the CNY SPCA are investigating an incident where a dog was left abandoned. On 07/02/2019 at about 7:00 AM, Deputies were dispatched to the Stanwix Heights Fire Dept. on Bartlett Rd in the City of Rome, where a dog was left abandoned. The dog which is a female mix pit bull breed, was captured and turned over to the City of Rome Animal Control. The pit bull, is white in color and has brown spots and is estimated to be between two or three years old. The investigation shows that on 07/02/2019 at about 12:38 AM, a dark colored sedan pulled into the Fire Dept. parking lot and let the dog out of the car. The car then left the lot heading towards Route 233.
