According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Wednesday, August 14th, 2019, at about 6:21 P.M., Deputies responded to River Road, at the intersection of New Floyd Road, in the Outer District of Rome for a reported Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Accident. The investigation into the accident determined that K. Mcallister Sam of Staten Island was at fault. Mcallister Sam was operating his black, 2014 BMW, westbound on New Floyd Road. Mcallister failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of River Road when he attempted to make a right hand turn onto New Floyd Road. Due to Mcallister’s speed, he veered too far left into the oncoming traffic lane. Mcallister Sam then collided head-on with a blue 2005 Dodge operated by G. Tennant of Rome. Tennant stated that a black vehicle came into his lane of travel and collided directly head-on into him causing both vehicles to sustain damage. Two individuals from Gerald’s vehicle were transported to Rome Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident. K. Mcallister and his passenger were also transported to Rome Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident. Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by New York State Police and Rome Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance.
