According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on October 7, 2019 around 10:20 AM Deputies responded to a two car motor vehicle accident on State Route 31 in the Town of Verona. Deputies determined Molly Walston (23) of Rome was operating a 2017 white Ford Explorer in an easterly direction on Stoney Brook Road. Molly the failed to yield the right away at the stop sign at the intersection of Stoney Brook Road and State Route 31 as she attempted to head north bound on State Route 31. Molly was then struck on the driver side front fender by Julia Ormsbee (62) of Schenectady who was traveling in a southerly direction on State Route 31. Julie had two passengers; Joanne Wendell (61) of Delmar and Jamie Ormsbee (30) of Schenectady, who both suffered minor injuries, Joanne with a minor right leg injury and Jamie with a head injury. Both were transported by AmCare Ambulance to be treated for their injuries. Julia also suffered an injury to her lower right leg and was transported by AmCare Ambulance to St. Elizabeths to be treated for her injuries. Molly was complaining of pain to her abdomen and was then transported by AmCare ambulance to St. Lukes for an evaluation. Molly was issued a ticket for failing to yield the right away at a stop sign and is to appear in Verona Town Court at a later date and time. Deputies were assisted on scene by members of the Verona Fire Department.
