According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on November 12, 2019 at approximately 6:45am, a single car motor vehicle accident involving a Rome City School bus occurred on Route 46 at Townline Road in the Town of Western. The school bus was operated by Scott Libby, 57, of Rome, who failed to negotiate a right turn on to Townline Rd from Route 46 due to slippery road conditions and the rear of the bus went into a ditch.

Thirteen students were on board at the time with no reported injuries and no tickets were issued.
