According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On July 10, 2021, at about 1:12 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of State Route 365 and Blackmans Cors Rd in the Town of Verona for a reported two car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Nicholas Krawiec (23), of Vernon, NY, was operating a white 2017 Volkswagen sedan Eastbound on Route 365 in the left turn lane and attempting a left turn towards Blackmans Cors Rd. Krawiec’s vehicle entered the Westbound lane of traffic before colliding with a grey 2021 Buick SUV traveling Westbound on Route 365 operated by Joan Kowalski (68), of Sherrill, NY, in the front passenger side corner with the rear passenger side of the sedan causing heavy damage. Krawiec’s vehicle then came to rest in the Northbound lane of Blackman’s Cors Rd while Kowalski’s vehicle came to rest in the center of the intersection.

Krawiec was treated and released on scene for a minor injury. Kowalski was transported by Vineall Ambulance to St Elizabeth’s Hospital for chest pain and arm lacerations. Krawiec was issued a citation for Failure To Yield The Right of Way on a Left Turn returnable to Verona Town Court at a later date.
