According to the Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at approximately 6:41 pm, a Road Patrol Deputy responded to the intersection of Route 365 and Prospect Rd in the Town of Trenton for a reported personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, the Deputy determined that Jerry Filiatrault, 75, of Potsdam, was operating a 2017 Buick SUV in a Westerly direction on Route 365, when an unknown make and model black SUV that had been stopped at the stop sign on State St entered the intersection. Filiatrault swerved to avoid the SUV and left the roadway, striking a tree on the Northern shoulder of the roadway.

Filiatrault and his passenger, Sally Filiatrault, 71, of Potsdam, were transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by members of the Barneveld Vol. Fire Company and STaR Ambulance.
