According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, in the morning hours on January 13th 2023 the VVS Special Patrol Officer was alerted by the Middle School administration of a threatening comment made by a Middle School student on a school bus on the afternoon of January 12th 2023, which initiated a response from the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies and an Investigator responded to the Middle School to conduct an investigation into the threat and it was found to be not credible. At no time was there any danger to the students or staff. The Oneida County Sheriff's is dedicated to keeping our communities safe.

These kinds of statements can result in fear and stress to not only the students and staff but the parents as well. Please take the time to have a conversation with your children about the consequences of making threatening statements as the statements that they make could lead to not only consequences from the schools but legal consequences as well.
