According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, at approximately 2:20pm on the 29th of March 2023, the VVS Special Patrol Officer was alerted by the Middle School administration of a threatening statement made by a Middle School student, which initiated a response from the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies and an Investigator responded to the Middle School to conduct an investigation into the threat and through that investigation, the threat was found to be not credible. The Middle School Student was charged with making a threat of mass harm and issued an appearance ticket returnable to Oneida County Probation at a later date.
