According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On December 19, 2023, at about 0847 AM, Deputies responded to Norton Rd near Houck Rd in the Town of Vernon for a reported one car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Kali Kula (24), of Vernon, NY, was operating a grey 2017 Nissan Rogue East on Norton Rd. Due to unsafe speed and slippery road conditions, Kula’s vehicle exited the southern shoulder of the roadway into the ditch striking a concrete culvert and then a well housing/pipe before coming to rest facing Northwest with heavy front end damage.

Kula was transported from the scene to Wynn Hospital to be evaluated for head and neck pain. Kula was issued a citation for Unreasonable Speed Due To Special Hazard returnable to Town of Vernon Court on a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Vernon Center Fire Department and Vineall Ambulance.
