October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office has partnered with the YWCA Mohawk Valley for 31 Days of Domestic Violence facts.

10/23 - Victims of domestic violence can go to family courts and request an order of protection for themselves and include their pets and some livestock. New York State has laws that allow judges to include companion animals and some livestock in protection orders.
