Social media threat

At approximately 1:10 pm the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office learned of a social media threat at the Holland Patent Middle School. A Deputy Sheriff assigned to the school district as a School Resource Officer along with school staff quickly implemented their emergency plan and brought the situation under control. The Sheriff’s Office along with the assistance of the school district are working together in determining the person(s) responsible for this threat. At no time were students in any danger and this investigation is ongoing by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit. If anyone has information regarding this incident, they are asked to contact Investigator Justin Copperwheat at 315-765-2767. The New York State Police assisted with this incident.
