Two car Motor Vehicle Accident in the town of Lee

Two Car Head On Collision on State Route 26

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office and two car head on collision occurred on State Route 26 in the Town of Lee at about 4:26PM on Friday the 23rd of March 2018.

According to Sheriff R. Maciol, Carrie A. Ward, 45 years old of West Leyden was operating a 2017 Mitsubishi, Southbound on State Route 26. Kristin L. Healt, 43 years old, of West Leyden was operating a 2015 Chrysler, Northbound on State Route 26. Ward made a left turn with her vehicle in front of Healt's vehicle which caused the collision. Kara M. Ward, 14 years old, was a passenger in Ward's vehicle. Alaina M. Healt 6 years olds, and Olivia M. Healt 9 years old, were passengers in Healt's vehicle. All involved were transported via AmCare ambulance to Rome Memorial Hospital for evaluations as a result of the collision.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police and the Lee Center Fire Department.

Ward is to appear at Ava Town Court at a later date for failing to yield right of way.
